Why Is My Exchange Balance Showing Incorrectly on Mirrorpip?

If you notice that your wallet balance on Mirrorpip appears different from what you see on your exchange account, don’t worry. In most cases, the issue is related to the information received from the exchange API rather than any action taken by Mirrorpip.
First Things First: Mirrorpip Cannot Access or Withdraw Your Funds
Mirrorpip does not have custody of your assets.
  • We cannot withdraw funds from your exchange account.
  • We do not have access to your exchange wallet.
  • We only receive account information that your exchange shares through its API.
Your funds always remain under your control on the connected exchange.

Try Refreshing Your Balance

Mirrorpip provides a Refresh Balance button that allows you to manually fetch the latest account information from your exchange. Additionally, Mirrorpip automatically syncs balances periodically throughout the day. If your balance appears outdated, click the refresh button and wait a few moments for the latest data to load.

Why Can the Balance Still Appear Incorrect?

Mirrorpip can only display the balance value returned by the exchange API. If the exchange sends a particular balance figure, that is the figure we are able to display. Some common reasons for balance discrepancies include:

1. Expired API Key or Secret

If your API credentials have expired, been modified, or lost the required permissions, the exchange may return incomplete or outdated account information.

2. Funds Locked in Other Exchange Products

Many exchanges allow users to allocate funds to:
  • Earn programs
  • Staking products
  • Fixed deposits
  • Savings accounts
  • Liquidity pools
  • Other investment offerings
Funds allocated to these products may not be included in the trading wallet balance returned through the API.

3. Exchange Fees or Hidden Charges

Certain exchanges may deduct:
  • Trading fees
  • Funding fees
  • Borrowing costs
  • Settlement charges
  • Other platform-specific fees
These deductions can cause your available balance to differ from your expectations.

4. Liquidated or Closed Positions

If a position was liquidated or closed at a loss, your wallet balance may have changed accordingly. In some cases, transaction records may not yet be reflected in Mirrorpip if the exchange has not returned the latest information through its API.

5. Exchange API Reporting Differences

Different exchanges report balances differently. Some may include unrealized P&L, while others only return available wallet balances. This can create apparent differences between what you see on the exchange dashboard and what is displayed through the API.

How to Verify the Correct Balance

The most reliable source of truth is always your exchange account itself. If you believe the balance shown on Mirrorpip is incorrect:
  1. Log in directly to your exchange.
  2. Verify your wallet balance on the exchange dashboard.
  3. Check whether funds are allocated to staking, earn, or other products.
  4. Click the Refresh Balance button in Mirrorpip.
  5. Reconnect your API keys if necessary.
If the exchange dashboard and Mirrorpip continue to show significantly different values after refreshing, please contact Mirrorpip support with screenshots from both platforms so we can investigate further.

Conclusion

Mirrorpip simply displays the balance information provided by your exchange’s API. While we regularly refresh account data and provide a manual refresh option, the final balance shown depends entirely on the information returned by the exchange. When in doubt, always verify your balance directly on the corresponding exchange, as it is the authoritative source of account information.
