# How to Connect Your Crypto Exchange Account to Mirrorpip

> Link your exchange account to Mirrorpip using API key so Mirror Leaders' trades are copied directly into your account.

To mirror trades from Mirror Leaders, Mirrorpip needs access to your crypto exchange account. You grant this access by creating an API key on your exchange and entering it in the Mirrorpip app. Your funds always remain in your own exchange account — Mirrorpip never holds, moves, or withdraws your assets.

<Warning>
  Only grant **trading permissions** to your API key. Never enable withdrawal permissions. Mirrorpip only requires the ability to place and close trades on your behalf.

## How API key connection works

When you connect your exchange, Mirrorpip uses your API key to:

* Open positions when a Mirror Leader you follow enters a trade
* Close or adjust positions when a Mirror Leader exits a trade
* Read your account balance to size positions proportionally

All trading activity happens within your own exchange account. You retain full visibility and can intervene or disconnect at any time.

## Connect your exchange

    In the Mirrorpip app, tap the **profile** icon (at the top right corner).
  </Step>

  <Step title="click on Trading account">
    This will show you all the suported exchanges you can connect with Mirrorpip.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select Exchange Connection">
    Tap **Exchange** \*\* \*\*to open the exchange linking screen.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Generate an API key on your exchange">
    Log in to your exchange in a browser or its app and navigate to the API management section. Create a new API key with:

    * **Read** permission (to check balance and positions)
    * **Trade** permission (to open and close trades)
    * **<u>No withdrawal permissions</u>**<u> — this is critical for security</u>

    Copy the **API Key** and **Secret Key** values shown.

  <Step title="Use MIRRORPIP IP ">
    Mirrorpip has static IP **154.61.77.165** , white-list this IP to enable connectivity
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter your API key in Mirrorpip">
    Paste your **API Key** and **Secret Key** into the fields in the Mirrorpip app. Tap **Connect** to confirm.

  <Step title="Verify the connection">
    Mirrorpip tests the connection immediately. A success indicator confirms your exchange is linked and ready.

<Note>
  Your API key is encrypted and stored securely. Mirrorpip staff cannot view your secret key after it is saved.
</Note>

## Disconnecting your exchange

You can disconnect your exchange at any time from **My profile → Trading account**. Disconnecting immediately stops all mirroring activity. Any open positions placed through Mirrorpip will remain open on your exchange until you close them manually.
